E- Marketing is a method of marketing which can also be referred to as I-marketing, web marketing, online marketing or electronic marketing and is the process of marketing a brand using the Internet. It uses a wide range of technologies to ensure a business connects to their customers in the right way, It gives any business of any size access to the mass market at an affordable price, and has many benefits such as: global reach, so a businesses website can reach anyone in the world, and also 24 hour service, meaning that customers will still be able to browse the website and purchase products, outside closed hours.An example of a business that uses e-marketing techniques will be first direct, as many of their marketing is done through their website.
Planning, control and evaluation processes.
In order for a business to be successful at marketing they need to use the planning control and evaluation process, this is basically planning the marketing activities before they are done, this will give a more structured analysis of the marketing environment. After this they then monitor these plans to asses which ones are likely to be achievable, this is known as the control process. Once the planning and control process have been done, they must evaluate all the plans and results.For example first direct may plan their marketing techniques to find out which one will get them the best results. E.g offering sales promotions which one attracts more customers.
